SOLIDER, AND A 75TH RANGER

An Open Letter to Anyone with Self-Doubts
This life you are living is too short. You do not have time to think about your unchangeable past and what you could have or should have done different in order to improve your present situation. Those thoughts are impossible to take action upon and therefore are not productive to your overall quality of life and well-being. Your obsession over past mistakes is holding you back from taking action in the present in order to create the future you desire. Your past is full of learning opportunities, but you must be careful not to let them become anchors. Learn from them what you can and then cut loose from the heaviness of your past errors and let those mistakes sink away as you forgive yourself and others in order to move on.
You have this moment. You have this breath. You have this heartbeat and the thought that has rushed into your mind right now. This might be the first time in a long time that you thought about what right now really is instead of using your moment to think about the past or the future.

That is normal, but that doesn’t mean it is good for you. It is time you started paying attention to how you feel in the moment, what you think in the moment and what you say in the moment. You are an incredibly powerful human being, capable of achieving greatness beyond levels you can possibly comprehend, but you cripple yourself with your lack of commitment to paying attention to what is happening in your life right now as you read these very words pouring from my heart into your mind.

You are no longer allowed to break your back on the jagged rocks of self-deprecating remarks. You don’t have time for that. Your life is beautiful and you are at the center of your life, therefore, you are beautiful as well. We all experience challenges, doubt and tough times, but these things do not define us.

You will become whatever you tell yourself you are more often than not and I am tired of hearing you tell yourself that you are weak because that is a lie. You have told yourself this lie because it is easier to be weak than strong and someone convinced you long ago that the easy path is the one to take.

This person or these people convinced you that talking yourself down was the right thing to do, but they didn’t do it for you. They did this for themselves because they are afraid of you. They are afraid of what you are capable of because it forces them to reflect and think on the unfulfilled potential of their lives that they are too afraid to pursue.

It is time to start telling yourself that you are of strong mind, a strong heart and a strong body. It is time to start being honest. It is not too late to change your life and become the person you want to be.
You have the potential to achieve more and become more despite the fact that you have already become so great and achieved so much. You make the mistake at times of comparing yourself to others and telling yourself that you aren’t great or that you haven’t achieved anything because you believe they have achieved more.

That is a mistake you are no longer allowed to make. You will no longer bring suffering upon yourself in this manor. You don’t know these people, their struggles, and their life stories or how they reached the point they are at. The only thing you can know for sure is that their life is different from your life but that does not mean that you and your life aren’t great.

It is time to appreciate how far you have come and appreciate the process of life as it continues to help you carry yourself on to your next obstacle to overcome. You will love yourself and love the process because every time you treat yourself like dirt you detract from your happiness; you detract from your quality of life, and that is no longer acceptable.

It is time to treat yourself like you are your own best friend because you live inside of your head all day every day. You deserve to be good to yourself and you deserve to give yourself the same amount of love you provide to your husband, wife, son, daughter or friends. You can and will become an infinite source of love for yourself and everyone around you. This will be your choice.
The universe takes no pity on the faint of heart and that is a good thing because you will no longer choose to allow yourself to have a faint heart. The universe shows no mercy to those lacking the intestinal fortitude to withstand the trials and tribulations of the randomness surrounding us and for that you are thankful because you do not require mercy…because you are too strong for that. The universe rewards those who never surrender to their fears and the challenges associated with them, and that is good because you have earned many of those rewards and you will continue to earn more.

You are an unstoppable force of positivity as of this very moment. In the past you have lacked consistency, but you have learned from those mistakes and now you know how to correct them. You do not need to sing from a mountaintop to be positive, but your actions and character will echo through the mountain ranges of eternity for all to hear as you hold yourself to a higher standard of human decency.

You are a rock and you will no longer allow your doubts, fears, past and stress about the future run your life. You will be honest, humble, hard working, compassionate and enthusiastic as you approach each day of life. Every breath we take for granted is a wasted breath, but you will no longer take these breaths for granted. You are special.

Your life is special. And now that you know these truths you can finish this letter knowing that every moment of your life from this point forward will be of greater value because you will remember to remind yourself how lucky you are to be alive, to have the family and friends you have and to have the opportunity in each moment to choose happiness over fear and sorrow. You will make mistakes at times, but you will forgive yourself and stay the course. You are loved by me, loved by you and loved by many others.

Always remember that.
We are a team. I am committed to doing my part to help you because I know from now on you will be committed to doing your part to help yourself. I love and appreciate you. Please continue to love and appreciate yourself and your efforts to live life to the best of your ability from this moment on. You deserve it.

Daily Storytelling Time
Letter To Garcia

Author Elbert Hubbard told the story of “letter to Garcia” during the Spanish-American War.

It was imperative that the president get a message to the leader of the insurgents. His name was Garcia and he was known to fighting somewhere in the mountains of Cuba, but no mail or telegraph could reach him. Someone said, “There’s a fellow by the name of Rowan who will find Garcia for you if anybody can.”

Rowan took the letter without hesitation. He sealed it in a leather pouch strapped over his heart. He landed in the dark of night off the coast of Cuba and make his way to the mountains, and after much difficulty found Garcia.

He handed him the letter, turned around and headed home. Hubbard tells his story in the book. Rowan didn’t ask, “Exactly where is he?” or “I doubt if I can do it.” There was a job to be done and he did it.

Instead of making a dozen excuses why you can’t complete the task, think about Rowan. Deliver the goods
